Our client is a reputable Corporate Bank with a strong presence in Asia. Due to continued business growth, they are seeking an experienced AML Transaction Monitoring Manager to join their Financial Crime Compliance team.

Your new role
  • Conduct transaction monitoring reviews and investigate unusual or suspicious activities identified through AML monitoring systems.
  • Analyse transactional alerts and customer activities to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, fraud, or other financial crime risks.
  • Perform detailed investigations and prepare clear documentation to support review conclusions.
  • Escalate suspicious activities and assist in the preparation of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) where appropriate.
  • Support periodic reviews of transaction monitoring scenarios, thresholds, and control effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Operations, Relationship Managers, and other stakeholders regarding AML investigations and remediation activities.
  • Assist in regulatory audits, compliance reviews, and internal control assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant AML/CFT regulations, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.


What you'll need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, Accounting, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years of AML experience within the banking industry, including at least 4 years of experience in an AML Transaction Monitoring team.
  • Familiarity with AML/CFT regulations and financial crime compliance requirements in Hong Kong.
  • Hands-on experience in investigating transaction monitoring alerts and conducting AML reviews. Experience with transaction monitoring systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional qualifications such as CAMS or AAMLP will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English is required; Chinese language skills are preferred.
