About the job

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive end-to-end post-trade processing and daily settlement functions across an extensive array of asset classes, including FX/Money Market, Fixed Income, Options, and complex OTC Derivatives.
  2. Serve as the subject matter expert in investigating and resolving complex pre- and post-settlement discrepancies. Manage comprehensive cash and stock reconciliations, producing accurate management reporting on a daily and monthly basis.
  3. Oversee corporate and institutional deposit lifecycles. Partner closely with Front Office and Relationship Managers to manage rollover instructions, execute maturing payment directives, and handle cheque clearing processes efficiently.
  4. Act as the first line of defense in payment operations by performing stringent AML and sanctions screening, ensuring timely escalation of any high-risk hits or suspicious activities.
  5. Champion continuous improvement initiatives alongside the department head. Play a pivotal role in system rollouts, new product launches, and workflow re-engineering, including leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and updating departmental SOPs to reflect current best practices.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of solid, progressive experience in Treasury Settlement, Payment Operations, or Trade Support within the banking sector.
  2. Deep understanding of local regulatory frameworks and reporting standards. Well-versed in OTC derivatives reporting (Trade Repository), Clearing & Record Keeping Obligations, and HKMA SPM Margin requirements.
  3. Hands-on expertise navigating core clearing and settlement infrastructures, specifically SWIFT, CHATS, CMU, HKTR, and the Euroclear (Easyway) platform.
  4. A highly analytical problem-solver with a meticulous eye for detail. Capable of communicating complex operational issues clearly to cross-functional teams.
  5. Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese; conversational fluency in Mandarin will be regarded as a distinct advantage.
