Accountant, 35K (MNC Trading)

Your new company

Our client is an established international trading organisation with a strong presence in the commodities sector. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the financial operations in Hong Kong and work closely with both local and overseas stakeholders.

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Handling full set accounting independently
• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Performing month-end closing and account reconciliations
• Monitoring inventory movements and inventory-related accounting entries
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Managing AP, AR, GL and cash flow activities
• Liaising with external auditors, banks and tax advisors
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Supporting ad hoc finance and operational projects as required

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Minimum 10 years' accounting experience
• Proven full-set accounting experience gained within a trading environment
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and stock reconciliation
• Familiarity with inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculations
• Mature, hands-on and detail-oriented approach to work
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous
• Chinese and English language skills are essential
• CPA qualification is not required
• Experience in accounting treatment related to commodity price fluctuations or commodity pricing calculations is a strong advantage
