A leading international private bank with a strong Greater China focus is seeking an Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) to join their Hong Kong team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, detail-oriented professional to build a career in private banking by working alongside experienced Relationship Managers on both new and existing client portfolios.
What You'll Do
Client Support & Relationship Management
- Work closely with senior private bankers to service and grow new and existing client accounts
- Respond to client enquiries and instructions promptly; follow up on issues and requests
- Prepare account review materials for RM and Investment Counsellor review on a regular basis
- Alert the Relationship Manager to situations requiring special action or escalation
- Coordinate with Product Groups, Operations, and other internal counterparts
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain systems and controls to ensure full adherence to SFC Code of Conduct and HKMA guidelines
- Act as gatekeeper for the sales process: RPQ, annual PI reviews, AML/KYC, suitability, cross-border restrictions
- Keep all client profiles, documentation, and records complete, accurate, and up-to-date
- Onboard new team members on key procedures including order-taking, system access, and business continuity protocols
- Ensure timely implementation of new regulatory and internal policy changes
Credit & Portfolio Administration
- Prepare Credit Approvals and monitor credit reviews, line excesses, margin calls, and collateral positions
- Maintain and update client transaction records, account numbers, facility details, and credit review status
General Administrative Support
- Manage scheduling, correspondence, travel arrangements, meetings, and client receptions
- Produce presentation materials and compile product and marketing collateral
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 3-8 years in client service, operations, or sales support within financial services
- Licences: HKSI Licensing Examination Papers 1, 7 & 8 required
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of common financial products and services; credit, sales, and marketing knowledge is a plus
- Attributes: Analytical, meticulous, excellent attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, good team player
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
