Data Platform Engineer - Financial Services - 35k to 60k

I am currently helping our Client seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join the team in Hong Kong.

Your role:

• Design, develop, and optimize data platform solutions encompassing data virtualization, data visualization, and data lakes.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and conduct thorough acceptance testing for data platforms.
• Build and integrate services with internal and external APIs / MCPs to support data workflows.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with Architects, Platform Engineers, and Product Owners to ensure seamless delivery within a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment.
• Partner with AI Engineers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to support the development and deployment of AI applications and data pipelines.

Ideally you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data platform development.
• Proven experience in deploying large-scale data infrastructure (handling hundreds of TB of data) is highly desirable.
• Strong expertise in system design and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Preferably experienced in designing, implementing, and managing DevOps pipelines within large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud, with relevant certifications being a plus.
• Knowledge of data security measures, including encryption and data anonymization, is advantageous.
• Proficiency in automation scripting using Bash or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with agentic coding and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Technical proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, Node.js, or Python; CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git and etc.
• Experience working within international teams and a solid understanding of the financial services industry is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, data-driven decision-making abilities, and problem-solving aptitudes.
