Senior Manager, AI & Data Governance

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Group-wide data and AI governance policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Establish governance requirements across the AI lifecycle, from use-case assessment and approval through deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
  • Work with Business Units to define data ownership, stewardship, quality, usage, and accountability.
  • Assess data readiness for AI initiatives, including quality, lineage, access, privacy, ownership, and retention.
  • Conduct AI risk assessments and monitor risks, exceptions, approvals, and remediation actions.
  • Establish responsible AI standards covering transparency, reliability, privacy, security, traceability, and human oversight.
  • Develop standardised governance templates, checklists, and documentation requirements.
  • Partner with Group IT to implement appropriate access, data protection, logging, monitoring, and operational controls.
  • Ensure AI solutions receive required business and IT approvals before accessing corporate data or entering production.
  • Maintain the AI governance register and report on governance maturity, risks, exceptions, and remediation progress.


Requirements

  • Degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in data governance, information governance, risk, compliance, analytics, or enterprise transformation.
  • Proven experience implementing governance frameworks across multiple business functions and engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, lineage, classification, privacy, retention, and records management.
  • Practical knowledge of generative AI, machine learning, and AI agents, including associated governance and operational risks.
  • Experience designing risk assessment, approval, exception management, and assurance processes.
  • Good understanding of enterprise data platforms, IAM, information security, cloud services, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and established data management practices.
  • Experience with audits, control reviews, Microsoft Fabric, or agentic AI solutions would be advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications in data, privacy, risk, audit, cybersecurity, or project management are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese.
