Data Scientist, Insurance, 70k

A leading insurance company is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to drive machine learning, predictive analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.

• Design, develop, and monitor machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions to support business planning and decision-making.
• Build and optimize models for customer segmentation, propensity scoring, recommendation engines, forecasting, and business performance analysis.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Translate analytical findings into clear business recommendations through compelling data storytelling, visualizations, and presentations to senior stakeholders.
• Partner with business leaders to define key business questions and develop data-driven strategies to support growth, customer retention, sales productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Develop dashboards, performance metrics, and management reporting to track business outcomes and support strategic planning.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and deep-dive investigations to address business challenges and uncover new opportunities.
• Monitor model performance and continuously refine analytical approaches to improve accuracy and business impact.
• Collaborate with technology, data engineering, and business teams to ensure effective implementation and adoption of analytics solutions.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, or related fields.
• Strong experience developing and deploying machine learning and predictive analytics models.
• Solid knowledge of statistical modelling, forecasting, classification, regression, clustering, recommendation systems, and customer analytics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to transform data into actionable business insights.
• Proven experience in data storytelling, executive presentations, and communicating complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience within insurance, financial services, consulting, or customer-centric industries is preferred.
• Fluent in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin
