IT Assistant Manager (Automation/AI)

Our client is a growing organisation with a lean IT team, seeking an IT Assistant Manager to drive internal technology initiatives and digital transformation projects. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on technology professional who enjoys a mix of AI-enabled application development, project management, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of internal business applications, including ERP, workflow automation, office automation (OA), and employee portals.
• Leverage AI technologies to improve business processes, automate workflows, and enhance user experience.
• Work closely with business users to gather requirements, analyse needs, and deliver technology solutions.
• Manage application development projects from requirements gathering through implementation and post-go-live support.
• Coordinate with external vendors and technology partners to ensure successful project delivery and system maintenance.
• Oversee system enhancements, integrations, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Identify opportunities to optimise operational efficiency through automation and AI-driven solutions.
• Support IT strategy, technology adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of experience in application development, systems implementation, or IT project delivery.
• Strong communication skills in English and Chinese.
• Hands-on experience with software development technologies such as Java, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, SQL, APIs, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to AI technologies, AI-assisted development tools, automation platforms, or GenAI-related solutions.
• Experience delivering internal systems such as ERP, HR systems, workflow platforms, OA systems, portals, or enterprise applications.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing external vendors and coordinating implementation projects.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a lean team environment with broad responsibilities.
