Service Line Overview

KPMG's Trusted Consulting (Risk Consulting) services group is built on addressing clients' urgent strategic and operational challenges in today's environment. The practice focuses on key risk areas relating to accounting and reporting, finance and treasury, and regulatory compliance and controls.

Our Governance, Risk & Compliance Services (GRCS) practice helps clients strengthen governance, manage risk and meet regulatory obligations through robust compliance, internal control and assurance frameworks. Combining multidisciplinary expertise with data analytics, automation and technology-enabled solutions, we enhance oversight, decision-making and operational resilience-helping organisations navigate complexity and create sustainable value.

We offer candidates a varied and rewarding career, with opportunities to shape Data and AI governance for leading clients, gain senior stakeholder exposure and lead high-impact risk and compliance engagements. You will work across Advisory and Technology, deepen your expertise in emerging regulation and AI-enabled solutions, and build the market profile and leadership capabilities needed for continued career progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex Governance, Risk & Compliance Services engagements, advising senior stakeholders on non-financial risk, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, internal controls and operational resilience.
  • Shape and deliver AI governance strategies, operating models, policies and control frameworks that enable responsible adoption across the AI lifecycle.
  • Oversee AI risk assessments, use-case classification, risk and control self-assessments, control testing, regulatory reviews and remediation programmes.
  • Apply AI, data analytics and automation to enhance risk sensing, regulatory horizon scanning, continuous controls monitoring and compliance operations.
  • Translate emerging AI regulation and technology risks into practical, business-focused recommendations for boards, executives and risk owners.
  • Build trusted client relationships, identify growth opportunities and develop market-leading, technology-enabled GRC propositions.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and engagement delivery, ensuring quality, commercial discipline, effective risk management and development of junior colleagues.
Experience & Background
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in professional services, management consulting, banking or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of non-financial risk, corporate governance, internal controls, enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in AI or model governance, responsible AI, AI risk assessments, lifecycle controls and relevant regulatory or standards requirements; exposure to generative or agentic AI is an advantage
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-border engagements, manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality client outcomes
  • Strong analytical, presentation, stakeholder management and report-writing skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage
  • Relevant qualifications such as ACCA, HKICPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent are preferred
