Tech Lead - NodeJS / AI

We're partnering with a major company in Hong Kong that is launching a brand-new project, and they're looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join their existing development team.
In this role, you will take the technical lead on building a new system from scratch, one that will need to support large amounts of traffic and deliver high performance. You'll work closely with an established team of engineers while helping to shape the architecture, development approach, and overall technical direction of the project.
In addition, this role will play a key part in supporting the company's AI initiatives, helping to evaluate, design, and integrate AI-powered capabilities into future products and platforms.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead and mentor an existing team of engineers through the full project lifecycle
  • Design and build a new high-traffic, scalable system
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical tasks
  • Provide technical guidance, ensure coding standards, and support best practices
  • Stay hands-on where needed to support development and unblock the team
  • Work cross-functionally to align delivery timelines and overall project goals
  • Support and drive AI-related initiatives, including the integration of AI-powered solutions and emerging technologies
  • Design and champion cloud-native architectures to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability
What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of JavaScript experience, particularly with Node.js and React.js
  • Strong technical foundation with solid understanding of system design and architecture
  • 2+ years of Tech Lead experience leading or guiding engineering teams
  • Hands-on coding experience is a strong advantage
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with both tech and non-tech teams
  • Passion for building scalable, reliable systems from the ground up
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud-native applications
  • AWS experience is a strong plus
  • Exposure to or interest in AI technologies, Generative AI, LLM integrations, or AI-enabled solutions is highly desirable
