As a Quality Engineer, you will design and execute testing for voice assistant features, investigate failures to determine root causes, and create high-quality bug reports that engineering teams can act on.
You will work across both physical devices and the supporting server infrastructure, collaborating closely with engineers, language specialists, and product teams.
This role is primarily hands-on and investigative rather than automation-focused. Success depends on strong analytical judgment: determining whether a system's output is truly defective and providing enough evidence for engineers to address the issue effectively.
You will work with an experienced, cross-functional team and must be adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Execute testing and expand test coverage
• Investigate issues and identify root causes
• Create clear and actionable bug reports
• Manage test environments and setup
• Collaborate with engineers, linguists, and product teams
• Take ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in software quality, testing, or software engineering
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Knowledge of Agile development practices, regression testing, and release processes
• Understanding of different test types, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Familiarity with builds, releases, deployment environments, and configuration management
• Proven ability to analyze, triage, and identify root causes in client-server and multi-tier systems
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and ability to read code
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong attention to detail and structured testing methodology
• Comfortable using command-line tools and navigating operating systems
• Working knowledge of at least one programming language:
• Swift strongly preferred
• Python highly valued
• Java, C++, Objective-C, or similar object-oriented languages also considered if proficient in software engineering fundamentals and willing to learn Swift
