Head of Electronic Sales Trading - Equity Derivatives

Our client, a well established financial institution is seeking a senior and dynamic professional to lead and expand their Equity Derivatives Electronic Sales Trading desk. This is a pivotal Director-level hire for an individual who can drive revenue, spearhead strategic initiatives, and serve as a key leader within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client & Revenue Growth: Cultivate and deepen relationships with existing and new clients, positioning yourself as a strategic partner to maximize revenue.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with Quantitative and IT teams to drive the enhancement of the electronic trading platform and contribute to the strategic development of algorithmic trading products.
• Execution & Performance: Lead the delivery of pre- and post-trade Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA), working directly with clients to refine their trading strategies and achieve best-in-class execution performance.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the client and system setup, ensuring seamless integration with EMS platforms (e.g., Fiddesa) and internal systems, while upholding the highest standards of best execution and regulatory compliance.
• Market Intelligence: Provide clients with timely, high-value market intelligence, including actionable flow updates, market color, and insightful research.
• Team Leadership: Play a key role in leading, mentoring, and developing junior and mid-level sales traders, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of proven success in electronic sales trading, including direct experience leading and managing a team.
• Holds a bachelor's degree or higher and is a current holder of HK SFC Type 1 and Type 4 licenses. Type 2 is highly advantageous.
• Possesses deep, demonstrated knowledge of APAC equity markets, including Stock Connect, local exchange rules, and regulatory frameworks.
• A track record of leading trading system implementation and contributing to algorithmic development projects.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Fluency in English and Chinese.
