Remittance & Deposit Operation Senior Associate - Global Corporate & Private Bank

Our client is a stable and well-established international corporate & private bank in Hong Kong. They are currently looking for a Remittance & Deposit Operation Associate in order to expand their operation capacity in Hong Kong.

You will be responsible for processing domestic and cross-border payments, managing fixed deposits, and conducting daily account reconciliations while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor and execute domestic and cross-border payments (SWIFT, RTGS, FPS, cheque clearing) and handle vendor payments, returns, and investigations.
2. Perform client’s banking instructions on deposit & cash operation (i.e. New deposit, deposit rollover, cashier’s order, draft & cash services, issue bank reference letter etc)
3. Perform AML/OFAC/sanctions screening, fraud monitoring, and customer callback verifications for high-value or sensitive transfers.
4. Handle end-to-end fixed deposit transactions, including account openings, placements, renewals, interest calculations, and settlements.
5. Conduct daily reconciliations (Nostro, settlement, suspense, GL accounts) and assist with audit, regulatory, and management reporting.
6. Work closely with business units to fulfill customer service requests (FX transactions, cashier's orders, bank letters) and maintain operational documentation.
7. Monitor overdraft account’s interest rate.
8. Conduct call-back with customer for funds transfer with large amount or fax instructions.
9. Handle returned mail services.
10. Participate in UAT, system implementations, business continuity planning (BCP), and process enhancement initiatives.

Requirements

1. Diploma or above
2. 5 years + remittance/ payment & deposit operation in a banking environment
3. Strong understanding on banking operation
4. All-rounded remittance operation background would be highly preferable
5. Prior private & corporate banking experience would also be highly preferable
6. Good problem-solving & communication skills
7. Fluent in spoken Mandarin would be an advantage
