About the job

We are seeking an experienced and driven VP/AVP in Corporate Banking to manage and grow our China Commercial (Mid-caps) client portfolio. This role requires a hybrid approach: managing existing relationships with China-linked corporate clients while aggressively driving new business acquisition, loan growth, and cross-border trade opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Acquisition: Actively hunt and acquire new mid-cap China corporate clients operating in or expanding through the region, driving asset and liability growth.

  • Credit & Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit underwriting for new and existing accounts. Ensure strict compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Cross-Selling & Solutionsing: Partner with product partners (Treasury, Trade Finance, Cash Management, Investment Banking) to deliver comprehensive financial solutions tailored to mid-cap enterprises.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor macroeconomic trends, regulatory updates, and competitive landscapes affecting China-linked businesses to identify emerging business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 6 to 10 years of corporate banking experience, with a proven track record in managing and expanding a portfolio of China corporate/mid-cap clients.

  • Strong network of connections within the China corporate/mid-cap space.

  • Deep understanding of corporate credit underwriting, trade finance, and cross-border banking products.

  • Exceptional negotiation, relationship management, and bilingual communication skills (proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to liaise with China-based stakeholders).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
