The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineering Manager to join the Data & AI function of a leading global organisation.
You will lead and help scale a team responsible for building production-grade Machine Learning, Agentic AI and LLM solutions. The AI platform is continuing to expand across multiple business units and international markets, including Europe.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who can provide technical direction, influence architecture and mentor engineers while remaining close to the technology.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Machine Learning and AI Engineers
• Drive the productionization of ML models, LLMs and AI agent workflows
• Define technical architecture and engineering best practices for the AI platform
• Work closely with Data Scientists, LLM Engineers, frontend and platform teams
• Guide the development of scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI and Async Python
• Oversee integration between frontend applications, AI agents, model services and data platforms
• Improve the reliability, monitoring and performance of production AI systems
• Monitor areas including agent execution, API latency and LLM costs
• Drive strong engineering practices around testing, observability and production support
• Help scale the platform across different business units and international markets

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience in Machine Learning Engineering, AI Engineering, MLOps or Backend Engineering
• Previous experience leading or managing technical engineering teams
• Strong hands-on Python engineering background
• Experience with FastAPI, Async Python, Pydantic and pytest
• Proven experience taking AI/ML solutions into production
• Understanding of Agentic AI, Generative AI, LLMs and LLMOps
• Exposure to LangGraph, LangChain and Langfuse
• Strong SQL skills with experience in technologies such as PostgreSQL and Databricks
• Understanding of monitoring and observability technologies such as Grafana
• Ability to provide technical direction while giving engineers ownership
• Strong Chinese and English communication skills
