The Environment
Situated in the Group AI Department of a massive retail conglomerate; this team moves aggressively to deliver complex analytics projects. This environment requires autonomous, commanding leaders who can plan months in advance and handle extreme complexity. If you are used to waiting for instructions, relying purely on existing governance, or operating in a chaotic "day-to-day" startup mode, this is not the right fit.
Responsibilities
- Drive End-to-End Delivery: Run complex AI and analytics projects entirely autonomously. Take total ownership of setting up the team for success without requiring guidance from senior leadership.
- Execute PM Fundamentals: Apply exceptionally strong project management fundamentals to highly organized, large-scale corporate deployments.
- Strategic Planning: Anticipate problems, manage dependencies, and plan project delivery cycles months in advance.
- Stakeholder Management: Command the room in meetings, effectively managing demanding commercial and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and protect the team.
- Leverage Agentic AI: Smartly utilize AI and ML tools to re-engineer project management workflows, think outside the box, and achieve a 10x to 20x increase in delivery productivity.
Requirements
- Autonomous Leadership: Must be a commanding, highly proactive leader. You are being hired to take the burden off senior management; passive candidates will not survive this environment.
- Mastery of PM Frameworks: Absolute mastery of project management fundamentals is non-negotiable to survive scrutiny from cross-functional teammates and stakeholders.
- Product & Commercial Awareness: Deep understanding of product capabilities, costs, and commercial goals to effectively bridge the gap with technical developers.
- Proven Complexity Management: Must have a track record of thriving in aggressive, highly complex environments (candidates from slow-moving banking backgrounds or unstructured startups often struggle here).
- Location & Language: Must be based in Hong Kong with a valid working visa. Cantonese is highly preferred, but not strictly necessary for exceptionally talented candidates.
