Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and data-savvy Trust Accountant to join our Middle Office Trust Operations team. This role serves as a central coordination point within the team, working closely with front office business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for the collection, maintenance, and reconciliation of trust asset data, as well as supporting the preparation of periodic and ad hoc financial reports, ensuring efficient and compliant trust asset management.
Responsibilities:
Proactively liaise with trust administration teams to regularly collect, consolidate, and organise financial and operational data across various trust projects.
Design and continuously enhance cross-departmental data collection templates to promote standardisation and improve overall middle-office efficiency.
Perform daily accounting entries and system data input for trust assets
Conduct thorough reviews of trust income distribution and asset valuation to ensure accuracy and consistency between records and underlying data, effectively managing operational risk
Maintain financial master data within trust systems, ensuring timely updates and correction of any anomalies
Assist in the preparation of trust asset reports and financial analysis reports
Support the preparation of reports and regulatory filings required by internal management and external regulatory authorities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred
Professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA (completed or in progress) are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting, finance, audit, or middle/back-office operations within financial institutions; trust industry experience is a plus
Proficient in MS Excel; familiarity with trust management systems such as Quantios or NavOne is advantageous.
