Tenants refused to leave our rental apartment on the due date and finally left after one week. Damage to the apartment was extensive and we are now in the stressful position of being recompensed etc.
Yesterday we attended a hearing at Small Tribunals which was a nightmare as they were totally unruly, taking centre stage and causing havoc. The Judge/Magistrate could not control them - it was farcical.
We are now in the position of having to take them to higher court.
My Question : Can we legally bill them for one month's rent? I am of the opinion that we can, but need some one to back me up!! Please don't reply if you're not sure. I need someone who knows the law. Many thanks
