HSBC US$ debit card or paypal for purcahse in the US?

hi guys,

not sure if you guys have any experiences in making a large purchase in the US. I can purchase it with my HSBC debit card or paypal. both provide the same protection. HSBC US debit card has no transaction fee + bad fx rates; Paypal transaction fee is 3.2% + $2.35 HKD + bad fx rates.

so does it make sense to just use the debit card?
