Dependant visa echannel usage

Hey,

My wife is a hong Konger; I am a UK citerzen. Can I register to use the echannel between China and hong Kong?
Also, I just received my dependant visa, and I'm a bit confused why it is only for 12 months.

yes, you can use your HKID at any eChannel at any HK border (not just hk-china), but you will still need a passport and a valid visa to enter China.

Dependent visas are issued for 1-2-2-3 years usually.

Hello,
Actually I have a tourist visa but my wife is a hk resident and we get marry 2 month ago and we have a baby..now I'm applying a dependent visa with her. she is not working but she get the money from the government every month and we are living with her parents...so do you think the immigration will accept my case or not ??
