Dear Dareyou.
I hear you loud and clear. I vowed to myself not to be one of them before having children. Fast forward to present, with 2 preschoolers, I have become one of them with all resistance. Resistance made my life so complicated and full of guilt, thus, I have dropped it.
If I were you, I would do anything you want to do, go shopping as much as you like, take lessons that you haven't tried. When my husband is on business trip and my mommy friends cannot make it out, I just go out by myself. I meet people and talk to them, male and female, it's inspiring what other people do and refreshing. And it gives me energy.
Instead and thinking people and life is boring, please use your time wisely as probably, if you ask your "ex" friends, they will think you are lucky. In any case, if you cannot entertain yourself, not a lot of relationships will work!!

Yes I used to love that show and I had quite a bit of a shoe collection, although it was not the kind of expensive shoes Carrie had! When I moved to Hong Kong and was not aware of the humidity at all and left it uncared, most of my shoes were ruined beyond repair.... Thus the name!
Aaaaa. Foodie, yes, you need people! How about going out with your friends and their boy friends? Annoying enough, I used to be the 3rd wheel quite often when I really wanted to go try a new resto!
Back in my super free days, I used to have a group of friends that will go out to dinner, etc on a specific date. That day, everyone had to prioritise the meeting no matter what, well, except for food poisoning etc, if work finished late, we would pre- order for the late comer. We took turns to select a resto of interest. It was quite fun!

Owww. Dareyou, I can sympathize with your frustration. Working overtime does make a dent in your social life, but you know what, when a door closes, another door opens so don't despair!!! You'll soon find friends that can adjust to your schedule!!!
I would live to meet up for a new resto except, I do have restrictions now and I won't count on myself!!! But do have fun!!!! There is always a way!!!!

The point here is that we should all be in a reasonable amount of control and have the ability to change our lives, make new friends and do what we want as long as we meet our obligations. Internet groups like this one and meet.com make it easy . The difficult part is making it happen- overcoming apathy, shyness and the resistance of others. But it is your life, and you need to try to make it right for you- good luck with that !

Go to networking mixers and chamber of commerce functions etc. It is an excellent way to meet lots of people, some become friends, and you can party afterwards. And you may get business contact or even a new job or a new b.f.
Just dont give your card to any financial advisors no matter how friendly and even if they say they want to be friends or have a drink. You will never hear the end of it.
