This is an ideal ‘week-ender’ for one person or a couple, although we are a family of three, and have thoroughly enjoyed spending relaxing times here.
Our apartment on Peng Chau Island is basically a large, open-plan room, involving an ‘L’- shaped breakfast/bar unit creating a kitchen-dining area (with sink, electric stove, and storage), which creates a sitting-room area in the front of the room, and sleeping area at the back, with good storage. There is, of course, a separate toilet with non-slip flooring and shower. There is a fenced balcony at the front, outside a large sitting-room window which looks out over a large ‘village courtyard’. Peng Chau South Bay beach can be seen around 100 metres to the side.
We have loved spending week-ends and longer holidays in our hideaway, but, sadly, we now need to leave Hong Kong. Peng Chau has a friendly, ‘village’ atmosphere. We have enjoyed its restaurants and bars, it’s many beautiful walks, and its excellent leisure centre, as well as its beautiful sunsets.
The ferries to Hong Kong Island make it easy to live both a holiday island and a city life. For this reason, it is a popular location from which to commute, and the apartment could well be considered a relatively low-cost way of getting into the HK housing market.
