A popular Victorian / Edwardian equestrian antique, created to commerorate a beloved horse, featuring a preserved horse hoof and engraved silver fittings including a horseshoe. Made in 1901 by Rowland Ward Ltd of 166 Piccadilly, London, the most famous maker of horse shoe inkwells. Inscribed - "Mabel" Died October 21st 1901. Silver portions hallmarked.
