Certainly , IBM/Lenovo units come with a "pull-it-out" tab to release the unit.
I can't answer for other manufacturers, but they are probably the same/similar.
These are part of my deceased brother's estate - and as neither myself - nor my brother (especially) have any use for it, I will offer each for $50.
