Not only does regular reading promote academic success across the disciplines, it forms thoughtful, curious and articulate people.

Get your secondary school aged child enthusiastic about reading this summer by enrolling him or her in a virtual (Zoom) reading group. Weekly meetings will be focused on thematic discussions, passage analyses, analytical and creative writing.

A group of texts can be selected around a particular theme (Coming of Age, Identity, Friendship, etc.) or an author (Sherman Alexie, Kurt Vonnegut, Philip Pullman, etc.).

The intent of this program is to get students excited about reading, introduce them to new texts and authors, and strengthen their reading, writing and speaking skills.

Ideally, groups will be 3-5 students. Ask your child to invite his or her friends to make the experience as enjoyable as possible!
