Founded in July 1996, the Hong Kong General Chamber of SMEs is a non-profit business association. The main service targets of this association include: proprietors of small and medium enterprises in various industries, professionals providing professional services, and scholars engaged in research of small and medium enterprises. The definition of small and medium enterprises is based on the number of employees. Manufacturing companies that employ less than 100 employees and non-manufacturing companies that employ less than 50 employees belong to small and medium enterprises.
