The Family Health Service provides a comprehensive range of health promotion and disease prevention services for children from birth to 5 years and women at or below 64 years of age. These services are provided by a dedicated team of medical & nursing professionals and supporting staff, through a network of Maternal and Child Health Centres (MCHCs) and Woman Health Centres (WHCs).

Postnatal Home Visits by Matilda International Hospital’s midwifery team Pregnant women who seek support after discharge can now book the Matilda Community postnatal midwifery service. It is an extension of Matilda’s renowned maternity care, bringing the unique care and support new mums receive during their hospital stay into their home. The Matilda Midwifery team are registered midwives in Hong Kong and highly trained healthcare professionals who can guide ladies as they adjust to becoming a new mum, assess and offer professional evidence-based advice on well-being and home safety, advocate early bonding through skin to skin contact, support breastfeeding and involve partners throughout the journey. The service provides an important link when needed to the family’s paediatrician and obstetrician. Home visits are provided up to eight weeks after birth, and cover Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories. Matilda clients can contact the staff during hospitalization. My name is Melinda Hunt and I am a qualified postnatal carer/night nurse. I also offer a Hong Kong based baby prepping and concierge service. I have lived in Hong Kong for the past 9 years after moving from Melbourne, Australia. I have 5 children (including identical twins) ranging in age from 10-21 years old. I have worked as a Post Natal Carer in private homes across Hong Kong, where I have helped new parents with night feeds, advised on breast feeding and formula feeding, sleep routines, soothing and settling methods and general baby care education and support.

The Family Zone Lactation Consultations These consultations are available via our Home Care Consultations as single one-hour consultations or packages of 5 or 10 consultations can be booked in advance. All our staff are Lactation Consultants (International Board Certifed Lactation Consultants). During the consultations any of the following areas will be covered as needed: - Breast feeding support & lactation consultancy - Infant & child feeding advice - Developmental assessment of babies and children up to the age of 5 - Sleep advice - Support for mothers, with careful monitoring for postnatal depression For parents booking a package of 5 or 10 visits, advice is also available between visits via phone call, sms or email.
