Tim has gained significant experience working with bilingual and monolingual children and adults with communication challenges across the world. He became a Speech and Language Therapist in 2011, graduating from City University, London (UK). He is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (UK) and the Health Care Professions Council (UK). Tim has worked in both clinic and school-based settings. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, he worked for three years in Jakarta, Indonesia at Jakarta International School providing mainstream school speech and language support services to a wide variety of students, primarily of elementary school age. Before that, Tim worked in Bangkok, Thailand for two years as a consultant speech therapist for students aged 3-18, visiting three international schools across the city. Tim also worked in Bahrain at a clinic for individuals with a wide range of communication challenges, both children, and adults. He has a special interest in the area of autism. He is especially passionate about helping adolescent students and young adults develop functional communication abilities in order to help support and build independent life skills. In addition to this, Tim enjoys working with students of all ages across the areas of articulation and phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency and, in particular, voice-related disorders. Tim enjoys meeting, working and interacting with people from different cultures across the world. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering at Palletable – a social enterprise aiming to help students with autism find employment in Hong Kong.
