Job Duties

  • Investment Research: Independently conduct in-depth investment research with a focus on statistical and predictive models to enhance decision-making.
  • Signal Development: Research and implement new signals into the investment strategy, ensuring a continuous evolution of our approach.
  • Systematic Strategy Development: Collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers to develop systematic trading strategies, encompassing idea generation, data gathering, research and analysis, model implementation, and back-testing.
  • Data Infrastructure: Develop robust data infrastructure to support investment, research, and operational processes, enabling seamless integration of insights into actionable strategies.
  • Modeling Expertise: Create and refine statistical and econometric models for economic forecasting and financial analysis, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Execution and Management: Develop and execute investment strategies within established mandates, managing multiple strategies and overseeing trading execution.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor, review, and enhance trading strategies, leveraging feedback and data to optimise outcomes.
  • Front-Office Systems Development: Build front-office systems that integrate research results, stock analysis, portfolio management, and trade execution for a cohesive investment framework.
  • Back-Testing: Conduct back-testing of new and existing factors to evaluate their effectiveness and refine investment approaches.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: 1-5 years of relevant full-time experience in quantitative research and development, data analytics and engineering, or software development, ideally within investment or hedge fund environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Python; experience with DevOps tools and familiarity with cloud computing infrastructure is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and convey complex ideas effectively.
  • Language: Fluent in English.
