SVP Head of Commercial Credit

Overview

With a rapidly growing platform and an investment in growth in the region, this leading commercial bank is seeking to hire a VP/SVP/Team Head Commercial Credit Approver for the Credit Risk Department to review and approve commercial credit applications and maintain a healthy and high credit portfolio for the bank.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review, analyse and approve credit applications of prospective commercial banking customers within the delegated approval authority;
  • Identify and highlight exceptions against the Bank's Lending Policy / Procedures and standard terms and conditions being offered to borrowing clients;
  • Provide guidance and feedback to relationship managers in structuring and risk mitigation of credit facilities
  • Manage the loan quality of assigned business units;
  • Make objective comments and provide recommendations for new credit requests and annual reviews of banking facilities within personal credit discretionary limit, and or recommend to credit committee if requiring higher approval authority;
  • Provides advice and development to junior credit team members as well as business staff in credit underwriting activity
  • Performs any other duties from time to time assigned by the Head of Commercial Credit

Requirements

  • University graduate in Finance, Economics, Risk Management or related disciplines;
  • CFA, Accountant and/or FRM is a plus; and HKIB ECF-CRM;
  • 10-15 years' solid experience of SME, commercial or corporate credit approval;
  • Sound knowledge in various corporate lending products such as trade finance, bilateral facilities, term lending, commercial real estate finance, syndicated loans and global markets products;
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis and credit administration
  • Good understanding in key market and industry dynamics;
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
