My client, a leading investment bank with global offices, is actively seeking a front office cash equities developer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing new equities EMS & OMS systems, enhancing existing applications, contributing to integration projects in the front office and middle office, as well as providing 2nd/3rd level application support. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the full project life cycle, collaborating with teams across different regions.
The role:
- Collaborate closely with equity trading and middle office user groups, providing timely support and deliverables for change requests.
- Manage end-to-end projects, including business analysis, application enhancements, gathering user requirements, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and configuration.
- Coordinate with vendors for system enhancements and support as required.
- Engage with users from various areas and IT teams, such as IT Governance, IT Support, and IT Infrastructure.
- Maintain strong client focus and foster positive relationships with internal business users, primarily FO EQ users, as well as middle office, back office, and risk management departments.
- Collaborate with global offices to enhance and maintain trading interfaces and links.
- Handle day-to-day production problems and maintenance when necessary.
What you offer:
- Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Engineering.
- 5+ years of development experience in Equities Front Office systems.
- Proficiency in .Net/C#/Java
- Strong knowledge and skills in SQL and Relational databases, such as MSSQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, etc.
- Solid understanding of design patterns, data structures, threading, and messaging.
- Experience with Maven and Atlassian ALM/SDLC tools (Jira, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Confluence).
- Familiarity with automated testing, DevOps tooling, and best practices.
- Extensive experience supporting equity business from front to middle office applications.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external users.
- Good business knowledge of Cash Equities, Futures & Options products.
- Familiarity with Equities market rules and regulations in Hong Kong and other Asian markets.
- Proficient in FIX messaging, broker connectivity, and exchange connectivity.
- Experience with widely used trading platforms such as Fidessa.
