Finance - Strategic Planning and Stress Testing Department
Hang Seng's Financial Control function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators, and external examiners. We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial reporting and compliance, capital planning and reporting, financial control & SOX control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and treasury and investment finance.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Planning Manager to join our team. The Planning Manager will be responsible for the preparation of the Bank's budget and forecast. He/She will collaborate with various departments to gather budget requirements, analyze financial data, track spending, and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, and a proven track record in budget management.
Principal responsibilities
  • Provide supports to Senior Planning Manager in budgeting, forecasting and analysis of existing businesses performance and identify opportunity for improvement.
  • Prepare budget and forecast management reports, analyze financial data and identify key insights and trends to support budget planning and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with the Bank key stakeholders to gather projections and develop accurate and realistic budgets and forecast.
  • Develop financial models and perform scenario analysis to evaluate the financial impact of different business decisions.
  • Provide guidance and support the Bank in budget tracking, forecasting, and expenditure control.
  • Prepare periodic review and recommendations for methods of improving financial planning processes, deliver efficiency enhancements and cost savings. Ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and policies throughout the organization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to budgeting and financial planning.
  • Digitalizes the forecasting and budgeting data riding on existing data analytical platform like Tableau to connect the forecast and budget details for better business governance, data management, visual storytelling, and collaboration.
  • Lead and mentor a team of budget analysts, if applicable.
Requirements
  • Agile, change mind-set, dynamic and inquisitive approach to work.
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, with a recognized qualification such as ACCA or HKICPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, with strong financial analysis and presentation skills as well as the ability to interpret and convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data visualization tools and advanced excel skills. Completion of Data Literacy Empowerment Programme "DLEP" is advantages.
  • Applicants must possess exceptional proficiency in English writing, demonstrating the ability to produce articulate and precise written content.
  • Exceptional drive and commitment, ability to work and thrive in a fast changing and results driven environment, and proven ability in handling competing priorities.
  • Strong collaboration and effective communication skills who can work cross-functionally with various teams, departments, and stakeholders to gather inputs, align goals, and implement strategic initiatives successfully.
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
