Section Head, Project & Quality Control

Leads and manage the Project and Quality control teams to monitor the operation risk and regulatory compliance related issues with respect to the group and regulator policy. Ensure all operation processes are fully complied with the regulations and standard set by the Bank and regulator; Support various Projects and Change Management with provide planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating on overall projects to ensure effective execution of plan. Leads and manage the Project and Quality control teams to monitor the operation risk and regulatory compliance related issues with respect to the group and regulator policy. Ensure all operation processes are fully complied with the regulations and standard set by the Bank and regulator; Support various Projects and Change Management with provide planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating on overall projects to ensure effective execution of plan.

Main Responsibilities:                      

  • Coordinate with relevant parties to identify business needs. Driving process changes and implementation of process re-engineering across Product, IT, Risk and Compliance operation
  • Develop, implement and execute internal control procedure and ensure the control self-assessments are properly carried out
  • Lead and guide the team in monitoring different key indicators to mitigate operational risks of the department and ensure associated controls within the department are in place and sufficient 
  • Review and recommend improvement to optimize controls and comply with the group's policies and regulations
  • Advice to the frontline on control / compliance related matters e.g. complaints investigation, analyst complaint case and provide proper feedback to frontline staff
  • Effectively manage and execute all project cycles including planning, overseeing workflow and regular status update and cross-disciplinary coordination across the department
  • Responsible for overall project implementation, including but not limit to user requirement collection, requirement analysis, User Acceptance Test, end-user training and documentation
  • Oversee the User Acceptance Test, Regression Test and Production verification to ensure the business requirement and new function are properly implemented in production environment

Incumbent Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Business, Finance, Economics, Project Management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in operation control in banking industry
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership, with experience in leading a small team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and capable of working effectively in a cross-functional environment
