Alternative Investments Compliance, VP/SVP

They are specifically looking for candidates with experience in alternative investments.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to a compliance team to embed a customer-focused culture; supporting the asset management business to manage regulatory compliance risks, specifically in relation to alternative investments
  • Implement the regulatory compliance standards and policies in line with the Compliance Operating Model
  • Report significant issues to Senior Management both within asset management and compliance itself
  • Provide risk steward challenge and act as independent advisory function in governance forums and issue management process on all alternative investment related matters, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with risk owners and control owners
  • Collaborate with local and global business and risk stewards on business related projects / initiatives relating to alternatives investments, to assess potential compliance impacts and ensure new products / services are aligned to group standards and meet all necessary regulatory compliance requirement
  • Build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders i.e. asset management colleagues and leadership, legal, auditors as well as regulators

What you'll bring:

  • Degree holder preferably in Law, Accounting or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of compliance experience
  • Significant Alternative Investments experience, gained through delivering in an advisory capacity from a Consultancy, Asset Manager or similar Banking or Financial Services institute
  • Solid and practical knowledge of financial industry rules and regulations
  • Excellent advisory skills, demonstrated through having provided consultation and compliance advice on alternative Investments products, processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication, report writing and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels
  • Able to interpret complex information and communicate highlights, succinctly to a variety of audiences, adapting style accordingly
