Responsibilities:

  1. IFRS 17 Implementation 
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of IFRS 17 across the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Actuarial, Risk, and IT.
  • Interpret and apply IFRS 17 requirements to ensure compliance and consistency in financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement appropriate accounting policies, processes, and controls to meet IFRS 17 standards.
  1. Financial Analytics:
  • Utilize data analytics techniques to extract insights from financial data and support decision-making processes.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial results, trends, and key performance indicators to provide meaningful insights to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization based on data-driven analysis.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Actuarial, Finance, and IT teams, to ensure alignment and coordination in implementing IFRS 17 requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams to address technical accounting and reporting challenges related to IFRS 17.
  1. Project Management:
  • Develop and execute project plans for IFRS 17 implementation, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and managing risks and issues effectively.
  • Monitor project progress, provide regular updates to senior management, and escalate any significant concerns or deviations from the plan.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and guidance related to IFRS 17 and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audit and reporting processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting and accounting, with a strong understanding of IFRS 17 standards.
  • Proven track record in successfully leading complex projects, preferably in the implementation of accounting standards or regulatory changes.
  • Solid knowledge of life insurance products and related financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards
