VP, Corporate Accounting - Mutual Fund

My client - a reputation mutual fund is currently seeking a highly experienced and strategic VP, Finance to join the team. As the VP, Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, driving financial planning and analysis, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team of finance professionals. Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight for the entire financial accounting function, including activities such as monthly financial closing and reporting, payment cycle management, and cash flow forecasting and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures by reviewing statutory reports as mandated by SFC and taking necessary actions.
  • Manage the management accounting processes, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of financial analyses such as sales KPI reports and pricing models.
  • Develop and prepare financial models and analyses to offer quantitative insights for management's decision-making on various business initiatives.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of existing financial and management accounting processes and systems to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Identify possibilities to leverage technology and implement financial systems and tools to enhance financial processes and reporting capabilities.
  • Act as a catalyst for change by collaborating with stakeholders across the firm to initiate and lead end-to-end enhancements, streamlining, and automation of processes and workflows.
  • Guide and support team members in effectively managing workloads, prioritizing tasks, and optimizing resource allocation efficiency.
  • Foster seamless audit exercises by liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Support the Head of Finance in ad hoc tasks, projects, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree and possess a CPA qualification.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an accounting-related role, preferably within financial institutions.
  • Experience in overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and year-end audits.
  • Advantageous to have experience in process improvement initiatives and familiarity with pricing models.
  • Practical experience in SunSystem, preferably with PMQ&A knowledge.
  • Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate stakeholders to embrace and adapt to changes.
  • Proficient in both English and Chinese.
  • Proactive, highly organized, and capable of working independently.
  • Experience in leading organizational changes and cultivating a culture of change.
  • Willingness to learn, demonstrate maturity, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and exhibit effective team leadership and management abilities.
