Townsend is currently seeking an Analyst within the Investment Management Group in its Hong Kong office. Townsend manages discretionary clients' capital, which invest globally across all property types, executing via funds, co-investments, joint ventures, recapitalizations, fund secondaries, and debt-oriented investments.

What the day will look like - Assist Portfolio Managers in the management of client mandates, providing support in portfolio modelling and analytics, performance reporting, market research, and due diligence
- Assist in the client service functions with a primary focus on Townsend's Korean institutional investors, including the preparation of client reports and presentations, taking notes while attending calls/meetings, responding to client requests for information and portfolio actions
- Assist in producing presentation materials for new business development initiatives, which include creating customized investment programs for our clients and prospective investors, raising capital for Townsend's discretionary fund products, and syndicating capital for our Special Situations investment opportunities
- Assist in the monitoring of existing investments including the periodic update of investment summaries to the broader Investment Management team and to Townsend's TIPS database system. Liaise with investment managers of the existing investments in respect of invested capital, monitoring valuations, pricing and performance and the subsequent update of the TIPS system
- Assist in liaising with investment managers for updates on their investment offerings, investment strategies and performance data, and the subsequent update of the TIPS system
- Assist with fund administration as needed including capital calls and distributions
- Support the high level needs of Townsend's Portfolio Managers and clients
Skills and experience that will lead to success - Possess a Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the finance and/or real estate investment industry
- Fluent in English and Korean
- Strong knowledge of real estate, combined with exceptional quantitative, research, analytical and financial modeling skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment that requires daily interaction with the global portfolio management, acquisitions, asset management, finance, and accounting teams
- Strong organizational skills required with the ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team in a time sensitive environment with established deadlines
- Self-motivated and takes initiative to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal/customer service skills essential with the ability to create/build and maintain relations with internal and external parties
