Job Description: Job description (heading) / Description du poste (titre) Reporting to the VP, Chief Compliance Officer, Asia this role is accountable for leading the comprehensive enterprise-wide Financial Crimes Oversight Program in Asia. With a focus on anti-money laundering (AML), anti-terrorist financing (ATF) and sanctions, anti-bribery, and corruption (ABAC) programs.
In this second line of defence AVP role, the incumbent serves as the Anti-Money Laundering Officer in the Asia Regional Office and oversee all AML, Sanction and ABAC risk in Asia. Work closely with the BU Compliance teams, business leaders along with Legal, Risk, Audit, and technology partners to ensure an effective and sustainable model for governance and oversight in Asia.

- Minimum 10 years of related experience within insurance or banking industry, preferably in a regional financial crime oversight role
- Experience within a regulator, and/or comparable environment considered an asset
- Strong executive presence with proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of organizational leadership
- Ability to deliver timely, high-quality presentations and/or reporting for various programs to senior leadership stakeholders; attention to detail and accuracy is a must with continuous focus on control excellence
- Demonstrated ability in dealing with diverse stakeholder groups and driving the agenda effectively
- Organizational savvy and ability to navigate and lead cross-functionally within a complex and matrixed organization
- Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and investing in talent
Responsibilities (heading) / Responsabilités (titre) - Provide oversight for all AML, ATF, Sanctions, ABAC programs in Asia, with a focus on
- Monitor the Financial Crime Policies and Enterprise Operating Guidelines in Asia
- Communicate these policies to leadership and to stakeholders to maintain a high level of awareness of these requirements
- Roll out organizational wide communication and training materials for identifying, assessing, managing, mitigating, and reporting on AML, Sanction, ABAC to ensure operational effectiveness
- Maintain a consistent methodology for AML, ATF, Sanctions and ABAC monitoring, risk assessment, measurement and reporting processes
- Report on the aggregate AML, ATF, Sanctions ABAC opinion ratings to Chief Compliance Officer, Asia, senior management and the relevant risk management committees and board committees. Ensuring reporting includes pertinent information about AML, Sanction and ABAC program adequacy and details of any incidents, emerging laws, trends any significant risks identified
- Report on the effectiveness and maturity of the AML, ATF, Sanctions, ABAC programs to senior management and relevant committees
- Oversee programs of BU MLROs and ensure consistency of practices and best practices and appropriate escalations
- Support Enterprise Compliance and DBTS in multi-year, global implementation of FCRM technology platform
- Collaborate with the Business Unit leaders, Compliance and Risk Officers, DBTS, Legal, HR the Enterprise Investigations Unit and Internal Audit as required in all related efforts
- Be apprised of industry standards and trends to build required mitigation strategies
- Interact with other companies and to promote information sharing and to facilitate the management of best practices
- Institute an effective governance model to provide regional ongoing monitoring and oversight to optimize efficiency and effectiveness of these Management functions
