We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Wealth and Personal Banking Operations Vendor Transformation Lead.

Job Purpose

Operations Transformation exists to deliver to deliver Bank Wide Operational Transformation and a sustainable and affordable model for the delivery of operational services to support business growth. The transformation activity is a core pillar of the HSBC strategy for 2025 and beyond. WPB Operations Transformation is a crucial part of the programme accounting for c 60% of spend and benefits to be delivered. The WPB Operations Transformation team work closely with the WPB business to define and deliver services which align to the wider WRB strategy and deliver sustainable costs savings in line with business goals.

The WPB Ops Vendor Transformation Lead is responsible for defining and mobilising strategic programmes Bank wide to drive more effective Vendor engagement. They will help to mobilise and provide programme support initiatives when required. They will ensure that these bank-wide strategic programmes fit into the Operation and WPB strategy and help HSBC to meet its strategic objectives.
  1. Driving Programme Mobilisation – The WPB Operations Vendor Transformation Lead is responsible for driving programme mobilisation, ensuring all programmes align to Ops and WPB Strategy and meet strategic objectives. Lead discussions with Operations and WPB Senior Leadership to identify and prioritize strategic programmes and review a backlog of potential in-scope programmes. The total mobilization of the portfolio of over $35 million across all areas supporting WPB.
  2. Vendor Service Delivery – Engage with WPB through Value Streams to align business and customer outcomes, to provide voice of operations and interlock Ops Transformation delivery programmes. Drive alignment of objectives and outcomes i.e. reduced print/postage, cash fulfilment, card issuance and back-office costs across Operations and Business through digitisation, STP, suppression of waste and delivery of 1st generation outsourcing transitions. Lead the BWOT delivery of WPB Operations initiatives to maximise impact of existing strategic data patterns and execution methodology/capability.
  3. Operating Model Development – Work with key stakeholders across Operations, WPB and Technology to drive identify and deliver end-to-end (E2E) solutions to impact Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Tangible Equity (ROTE) e.g. E2E Cash TCO, E2E Cards TCO.
  4. Deliver Programme– Managing the delivery of the BWOT Vendor programme and delivering the target saves.

To support the above, the WPB Ops Transformation Vendor Transformation Lead will need to build and drive strong partnerships across Operations, WPB and beyond to ensure all transformational activity is completed to plan is in line with all governance requirements.

The WPB Ops Vendor Transformation Lead is accountable for bringing leading practices from industry together to enable Operations to be at the forefront in achieving its strategic objectives. Additionally, will work closely with global businesses in ensuring their strategies incorporate emerging technologies as well as existing ones to ensure alignment with the HSBC Technology Strategy.

The WPB Ops Vendor Transformation Lead will manage a dedicated team of data resources to deliver strategic programme identification, mobilisation and remediation.

Principal Accountabilities:

Impact on the Business/Function
  • Define and execute strategic programmes. Ensure alignment with wider HSBC strategy and take responsibility for its delivery
  • Lead a cross-functional team to work across WPB Operations strategic programmes
  • Partnering with Senior Technology and business stakeholders in reacting to delivery challenges and recommending and managing resolution plans
  • Drive key technology initiatives relating to new technologies which the bank is looking to utilise.
Customers / Stakeholders
  • Ensures close and effective working relationships with Global Business and Regional teams. Business Service stakeholders largely GCB2and GCB3 level split across multiple countries
  • Builds close links to Global Functions to ensure well informed Group perspective on Global Business and Region
  • Builds trusted relationships with senior leadership in WPB and Operations to help them feel comfortable to reach out to the strategic programmes team for assistance as required
  • Establishes effective mechanisms for decision making and for appropriate escalation of information to appropriate Management Committees.

Requirements
