We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Wholesale Operations, AMH.

Principal Responsibilities

Digital Business Services is a pivotal part of the Group, providing essential operational and technical support to our global businesses and helping improve customer service and efficiency. Digital Business Services combines global expertise and technology to help keep us ahead of the competition.

Wholesale Operations offers our employees a fast paced, dynamic working environment with exposure to a wide network of stakeholders such as Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking and Markets, in around 60 countries and territories around the world. Our services are diverse consisting of:
  • Credit Services and Collateral Management Utility
  • Wholesale Servicing Operations
  • Global Trade Services (GTS)
  • Client Lifecycle Management (KYC Operations)
  • Manage, maintain, and control country costs versus the FRP budget, including resource demand and supply within plan. This includes delivering cost out targets to meet budgets
  • Lead all governance activities within the market and act as a key representative in joint business forums. Owning the preparation of materials for key forums
  • Manage & supervise the KRI´s & KPI´s, book of work completion (new and existing to bank) volumes and incoming demand to generate & implement the strategies necessary to achieve an increase in performance, productivity, & the quality of all processes
  • Operational improvements through best in class process, unit processing times and leveraging digital solutions where available
  • Lead people and engagement initiatives within respective team, deliver talent reviews, succession plans, deploy BWOT work streams and govern annual performance management. Creation of an inclusive and high performing culture
  • Ensure vendor relationships generate maximum financial value and service quality
  • Improvements in the overall experience delivered to the customers of Global Businesses
  • Delivery of service to agreed levels of performance including report to stakeholders
  • Delivery of DBS Operations capabilities in a professional and commercial manner
  • Functional management of the onshore team and be the accountable executive for services delivered from the GSCs
  • Willing to challenge the status quo
Requirements
  • Experience working in or with the Commercial Banking, Global Banking or Global Markets areas of financial services
  • Prior experience of courageous leadership in a dynamic and challenging economic and regulatory environment across operational teams spanning multiple locations
  • Experience working in the Operations division of a large scale financial services company
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and identify / assess the implications for the market and its customers
  • Excellent planning, organizing and commercial skills including strong financial management capability
  • Advanced data and financial experience with very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong attention to detail
  • Strong leader / positive role model
  • The ability to communicate complex issues concisely, being seen as a subject matter expert by business stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively
  • Well-developed project management skills
  • Confidence to work with senior leaders across the organization, including front and middle office
  • Academic qualification: Bachelors degree or demonstration of relevant industry experience
  • AML qualification
  • Operations is a global team supporting a number of markets, the ability to converse fluently in more than one language is desirable, English being essential
  • Given the role is part of a global team, the jobholder is required to adopt a flexible approach in terms of work location and working hours with significant travel required at times. The jobholder would not be subject to close supervision and will be expected to exercise initiative and judgment in proactively overcoming obstacles to success
