About this role As the new APAC Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and financial direction of the APAC region, partnering closely with the Head of APAC and the APAC leadership team.
You will sit on the APAC Operating Committee and partner with regional leaders to drive the growth and profitability of our APAC region. Together with the APAC Head of Corporate Strategy, you will play a central role in the strategic and financial planning of the region, the management of budgets and resource allocations, the evaluation of business opportunities, and the (direct and indirect) oversight and leadership of BlackRock's Finance team in APAC. You will play a key connecting role across the Finance team, between Finance and APAC leadership, and between APAC and the global firm.
This is a globally visible, senior role reporting into the Global Head of FP&A, a member of the Finance & Strategy Executive Committee.
Core responsibilities Drive the strategic finance agenda for the APAC region - Serve as the senior finance leader for the region and finance counsel for Head of APAC and APAC executive leadership team
- Partner with client & investment functions to drive organic and inorganic initiatives
- Together with the APAC Head of Corporate Strategy, lead long-term strategic and financial planning processes, translating long-term objectives into 3-year commercial plans and 1-year objectives
- Partner with global functions to deploy financial levers including organic investment, resource reallocation, partnership spend, balance sheet capital to advance our commercial goals in the APAC region.
Lead the FP&A function within APAC - Oversee the creation of APAC commercial plans and budgets
- Partner with senior regional leaders to optimize results against business plans
- Drive a data- and technology-led operating model to deliver management insights
Oversee APAC Finance talent processes and culture initiatives - Lead regional promotion calibration reviews and talent planning (e.g., HiPo) discussions
- Amplify and drive engagement with global Finance talent & culture initiatives
- Provide support to APAC and global Finance leaders and engage "on the ground" across locations
Drive a unified APAC Finance operating plan - Chair APAC Finance ExCo and oversee a unified operating agenda across functions
- Lead and provide guidance on cross-team initiatives and shape vision for the team's long-term Finance operating model and resourcing in APAC, including our globally critical India iHub locations
- Serve as source of problem solving and issue resolution for APAC Finance teams
- Represent Finance in APAC governance forums and operating committees
Formal reporting and governance responsibilities - Direct oversight of APAC FP&A team
- Indirect oversight of APAC Finance functional leads (Tax, FP&A, Treasury, Controllers, SVM)
Qualifications - Demonstrated experience as finance counsel to regional business leaders
- Developing and executing strategies to deliver commercial outcomes and financial growth
- Extensive experience in finance roles and a strong knowledge of the APAC asset and wealth management
- A proven track record in establishing and reviewing strategic priorities, translating into a comprehensive execution plan, and driving or monitoring implementation
- Strong ability to bring global perspectives in delivering at the regional level
- Knowledgeable about regional regulatory landscape
- Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills with a strategic mindset
- Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and driving results
- Excellent people leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong ability to navigate and influence a 'matrixed' regional and functional operating model.
