Job Summary

The successful candidate will be a senior team member of the Wealth/Retail business development team based in Hong Kong and responsible for leading the wealth management sales efforts in these regions. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and driving business growth. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to clients.

The ideal candidate will have established and solid relationships with larger Private Banks with proven track record of successful sales and business development in this region.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following functions:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including private banks and retail banks.
  • Identifying new opportunities, deepening and improving client relationships and spotting cross-selling opportunities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the firm's investment strategies and competitive positioning across fixed income and credit, equities, multi-asset and alternatives
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Represent Barings at industry events and conferences to promote the company's services.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience working in wealth sales and business development in the funds management industry in Hong Kong with proven track record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
  • University Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Finance; CFA qualification preferred but not necessary
  • Strong network and relationships with Private Banks within the region and proven track record in institutional sales and business development in Asia
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following asset classes: equities, multi-asset, fixed income and credit, high yield, and/or alternatives
  • Positive attitude and a high level of professionalism
  • A positive, collegial attitude and a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and on individual projects
  • Excellent time-management, project management and organization skills to prioritize effectively and manage information flow in order to meet deadlines
  • Has initiative and is self-motivated, eager to learn, and interested in taking on new challenges to enhance coverage and build relationships with institutional clients
