Financial Controller

Our client is a renowned Hong Kong institution with a long history of providing recreational/hospitality services to the general public and its members. They have properties spanning recreational clubs and commercial assets. As a result of their expansion plans, they are currently seeking a Financial Controller to lead a team of finance professionals and oversee the operational, project related and daily requirements of their assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures of the Group.
  • Oversee the project renovation/redevelopment works of the clubhouse/assets and ensure costs and budgeting remain within the required range.
  • Communicate and present timely reports, projections, operational information and project updates for the board of directors.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
  • Provide treasury function/cash management for the company to facilitate future development.
  • Develop financial strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with company objectives.
  • Prepare financial analysis for new business development and financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements.
  • Work with the board of directors in analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement.
  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

Requirements:

  • Holder of a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
  • Qualified Accountant of an accredited body.
  • Minimum 12 years of senior financial management experience within sizable organization.
  • Candidates with prior experience within hospitality, real estate or recreational facilities/clubs would be preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings and information to top management.
  • Track record of managing a sizeable team of professionals.
