Our client is a leading international bank who is now seeking an experienced professional to oversee its Risk Management function for its Hong Kong branch, focusing on wholesale banking and corporate banking activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and execute a comprehensive risk management blueprint for the branch, aligning with strategic objectives.
- Actively track critical risk indicators and orchestrate timely mitigation strategies as needed.
- Guarantee alignment of risk management practices with Hong Kong regulatory requirements, group-wide policies, and global industry standards
- Design, implement, and maintain robust frameworks for managing market, operational, and climate-related risks.
- Spearhead periodic risk evaluation initiatives, including stress testing and forward-looking scenario analysis
- Conduct autonomous assessments of treasury operations and business unit activities to verify compliance with established risk thresholds.
- Perform thorough evaluations of control mechanisms and business continuity protocols to ensure their efficacy and relevance
- Lead the Branch Risk Committee proceedings and contribute strategic insights in Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) meetings.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies and external auditors on all risk-related inquiries and examinations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or similar
- 10+ minimum years of experience in related risk management field within the banking industry
- In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong and international banking regulations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong command of written and spoken English
