Our client is a leading life insurer offering a comprehensive range of insurance and financial services to millions of customers across the region. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, providing technical guidance, enhancing processes and controls, and supporting stakeholder management and regulatory compliance through collaboration with various business units.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the regular closing and reporting process for the Group and its business units.
- Manage and support the creation of financial statements, management reports, and materials for the Audit Committee and Board.
- Review and analyze consolidated financial results and those of individual business units.
- Ensure all reports comply with Group Accounting Policies and regulations from HKIA and the HK Stock Exchange.
- Assist in meetings with business units to monitor financial results.
- Support improvements in processes and systems to make closing and reporting faster and more efficient.
- Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and manage quarterly certifications from business units.
- Help produce solvency reports for both Hong Kong and Bermuda.
- Support projects related to financial and regulatory reporting and contribute to broader finance initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Master's in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Qualified Accountant with experience in a multinational environment, preferably within the insurance industry or Big4 Consultancy
- Minimum 5 years (Manager) or 10 years (Senior Manager) of managerial experience in financial reporting or budgeting.
- Extensive knowledge of the life insurance industry.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage a sizable team and meet stakeholder needs.
- Familiarity with SAP, IFRS, and HKRBC is a plus.
- Proficient in problem-solving, analytical skills, and fluent in English
