Job Description
We are currently seeking a mid-level lawyer in Hong Kong to join our Secondary Market legal team, focusing on Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (“FICCâ€) business. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the lawyer will provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to the business on a broad range of credit, rates, FX, commodities and securitized products transactions all with an international focus.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel to FICC on the structuring and documentation of market access products, financing solutions, structured issuances and risk management tools
- Draft, review and negotiate master agreements, MCAs and credit documents
- Monitor developments in financial markets and related laws and regulations and assess their impact with confidence and clarity
- Review and develop policies and procedures to manage legal risks
- Conduct training to the business on legal developments, regulations and policies
Required Qualifications:
- Exhibit a firm grasp of legal, regulatory and commercial issues arising from at least one of the following areas: (i) securities and derivatives sales and trading, (ii) structured note issuances, (iii) asset-backed financing (including repos), (iv) securitization, (v) energy and commodities markets, and (vi) wholesale banking
- Exposure to at least one of the following regulatory regimes: (i) Hong Kong SFO and Code of Conduct, (ii) any iteration of MIFID, (iii) U.S. regulation of broker-dealers, (iv) U.S. regulation of swap dealers or (v) from a comparative body of regulations
- A law degree from an accredited law school and having practiced law in Hong Kong, the PRC, the U.S. or any of the Commonwealth countries for at least 4 years
Required Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Competent legal drafting, reasoning, negotiation and presentation skills
- A proactive and can-do attitude
- Fluency in English and Mandarin
