Our Team: Our Fixed Income Corporate Actions Data team looks after the lifecycle of corporate securities focusing on transaction level data and their impact on reference data and bond calculations. Corporate Actions can have significant implications for bondholders and often impact across the wider market, making timely and accurate interpretation and capture of corporate actions data key to meet client needs. With the increased adoption of new technologies and industry standards, there is a growing need for automation and standardization of corporate actions, uncovering an opportunity for technical innovation for our team.
What's the role? We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finance, data, and technology to enhance value from our data products. As a Senior Data Analyst on the Fixed Corporate Actions Data team, you will play a key role in expanding Bloomberg's corporate actions databases to further deliver an industry-leading data product offering. You will collaborate closely with global team members, domain experts, and business partners, managing priorities of different initiatives and using industry knowledge to help drive decisions and generate new dataset offerings. You will work to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technical solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes. You will bring a unique combination of subject-matter-expertise in Fixed Income, good interpersonal skills, and a passion for problem solving to address our clients' needs.
We'll Trust You To:
  • Understand our customers' needs and markets to ensure data is fit for purpose, ready for use, and meets service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of partners from Engineering to Sales on product development and implementation
  • Research new data sets to expand the coverage of our products
  • Implement quality control strategies including development of quality control rules
  • Contribute to the creation of best practices and guidelines for data governance
  • Balance the best of technical and product knowledge to implement solutions for customers
  • Proactively support customers by helping them interpret data and predicting their follow-up questions/needs
  • Apply problem-solving and data analysis skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes/overall product strategy
You'll Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, STEM, or related field/equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in English
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry, including exchanges, market data providers or financial institutions
  • Experience working with data management paradigms and associated tools and technologies, such as the management, governance or quality assurance of data
  • Experience working with ETL processes and broader data workflow engineering concepts
  • Ability to take a logical approach and apply critical thinking skills in order to tackle problems
  • Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to handle priorities from multiple internal and external partners
  • Ability to adapt within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proven customer service skills

We'd Love to See:
  • Master's degree in relevant field and/or CFA designation (or working towards it)
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and demonstrated applied data analysis skills, with proficiency using Excel as well as experience with SQL or Python
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikSense or Splunk
  • Experience transforming workflows into more timely and efficient processes
