Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of professional specialists to design and implement data and analytics infrastructure solutions (data platform, business data layers) for HK Data Chapter, supporting strategic priorities across consumer banking, private banking, and institutional banking.
  • Oversee and govern the improvement and enhancement of data models on analytics platforms, ensuring data quality, integrity, and the availability of reusable assets.
  • Uncover new sources of structured and unstructured data through stakeholder engagement as well as new technology initiatives. Bring them into the architecture using sustainable methodologies.
  • Identify, plan, and implement a roadmap for analytics platforms, solutioning and capabilities across HK Data Chapter aiming to enhance the overall productivity and efficiency.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data ana analytics tools to support the increasing demands from business and other analytics/data science teams.
  • Lead platform migration and upgrade projects to ensure the minimal business disruption.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to resolve platform issues for data specialists.
  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for data-related matters and liaise with transformation and technical stakeholders locally and regionally.
  • Promote a culture of learning and facilitate the enhancement of technical skills and best practices within HK Data Chapter.
  • Provide advisory on data infrastructure and analytics platforms to data specialists.
  • Manage project progress and funding allocation to optimize resource utilization for project deliverables.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and the Data Chapter team to deliver high-value data solutions by extracting value from data across every line of business.

Requirements:
  • Degree or above in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related disciplines, with a minimum of 10 years of working experience in data platform, data engineering and architectural design, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and data modeling with experience in data visualization (e.g., Qlik/Tableau/PowerBI, etc.) and familiarity with cloud data services, data architecture concepts and code optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data and analytics in complex business environments; financial services experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and tools (Agile, TDD, Jira, Jenkins, Git).
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and integrate data solutions seamlessly with experience in effectively integrating data solutions into an end-to-end business process.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and data profiling. Able to recommend ways of improving data quality and upskilling the overall analytic community with state-of-the-art tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and logical reasoning skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
