ROLE DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

This role manage, oversee and provide portfolio administration & operational support to the investment management teams in APAC regions. This covered all different kinds of financial instruments including equities, fixed income, Foex, and other derivatives etc. The role needs to work closely with local and global internal teams & external services providers to support daily activities.

Apart from daily BAU activities, this role needs to manage operational projects independently in the region and cooperate with stakeholders across regional and global headquarter to deliver target solutions. For any market evolution and changes impacting access, operations & settlement procedures in Asia, this role needs to closely monitor and implement the necessary changes on Front to Back workflow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the trade lifecycle, including order processing, trade settlement, corporate actions, valuation functions etc., performed by internal teams and external providers.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders in global and regional to deliver projects in relating to operational changes
  • Promptly respond to queries from the internal teams (investment management, client services) and provide solutions to the issues encountered by the investment teams
  • Analyse, review and prepare regulatory, compliance, management, analytical and ad-hoc report requests from internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strategize with technology to design and implement solutions to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain an astute awareness of industry, markets, best practices and regulatory changes & settlement practices across the Asian markets.
  • Analyze the impact of these market & regulatory changes, oversee, develop and implement new processes and reporting to manage trade life cycle in these market.

  • Internal: Portfolio Managers, Dealers, Client Services, Sales, Operations & IT teams
  • External: Custodians, Fund Accountants, Market Intermediary and Services Providers
ROLE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 8 years relevant working experience preferably with 5 years in Asset Management/Custody
  • Proficiency in written and oral English & Mandarin
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES (TECHNICAL/BEHABIOURAL/LEADERSHIP)
  • Sound knowledge of the Asset Management industry and understanding of back and front office functions.
  • Solid experience in managing asset management operational projects including funds migration, transfer agent migration, change of fund accounting systems, new fund launch and closure, etc
  • Good understanding of security markets & settlement practices across Asian markets, in particular restricted markets e.g. China, India, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia & Philippines.
  • Excellent communication skills, be able to lead meetings & discussions and drive consensus.
  • Strong interpersonal skill, maintain good partnership with PM, team, internal users in Asia & global and external service providers
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Blackrock Aladdin Solution is an advantage
