The role will manage the Operational Risk Oversight for PRUHK (including Life, GI businesses in HK and Macau) in line with requirements / expectations set by Group & Local policies / frameworks, Regulators and the Board. To implement robust operational frameworks, and a strong risk culture, across the company by providing independent review, reporting, challenge and counsel on related matters.
Job Responsibilities - Ensure adherence to the Group & Local Operational Risk Management (ORM) frameworks / policies through effective implementation of a strong non financial risk regime.
- Oversee and assist to coordinate the Life and General Insurance Risk Committees and associated material preparation. Lead the Emerging Risk Forum. Participate in other management / working forums to appropriately discharge risk management responsibilities.
- Support the Chief Risk Officer and Head of Risk Management with producing a single view of the risk universe, including associated monitoring and reporting.
- Promote a best in class risk culture, develop talent and optimize risk processes across the organization.
- Proactively identify ways to streamline & automate ORM related processes and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Critically review business proposals, projects, strategies & key risk areas, formulating proposal & recommendations for management and influence the relevant stakeholders. Build rapport with first line by understanding business needs and provide timely and practical advices.
- Develop and maintain monitoring arrangements to ensure achievement of reporting and escalation requirements, and manage the closure of incident in a timely manner.
- Minimize risks to the company from unexpected situations by implementing a robust business continuity plan and framework.
Job Requirements - Bachelor degree with solid knowledge in Operational Risk Management.
- Minimum of 10 years working experience, preferably in life insurance business.
- Strong business acumen with excellent analytical skill and ability to make sound and consistent judgements and decisions.
- Good stakeholder management at all levels and tactful in resolving conflicts.
- Willingness to challenge status quo.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Cantonese, and proficiency in business writing and presentation.
